Heart Rate: Episode 12 with "The King of Queens,” Gary McLaughlin

Oh me, oh my, how do I even describe this episode? If you’ve ever been to November Project in New York, out at Gracie Mansion, or at Ft. Greene in Brooklyn, there ‘s a good chance you know of Gary McLaughlin. Maybe it’s his flawless plank form, or his rivalry with Mary Arnold, former co-leader of NP NYC. Perhaps you met him at NYRR’s Group Training, and wondered how he perfected running without ever using his arms. It’s even possible you were a witness to the epic battles on the race scene between Gary, Billy the Bulldozer, and Sebastian the Man in Jean Shorts. However you know him or if you don’t, trust me when I say he is one special human. Jokes aside, he’s a good friend, and when I learned he would be leaving us to return to Ireland with his lovely family, I knew I had to get this episode out before he left. Enjoy, everyone! Gary, we’ll miss you…at first.
